VeriFinger Embedded is a fingerprint identification technology designed for mobile biometric systems developers and integrators. The technology assures fast fingerprint capture and fingerprint matching in 1-to-1 and 1-to-many modes with AFIS-level reliability.

VeriFinger Embedded is available as a software development kit that enables development of stand-alone or Web-based solutions for smartphones, tablets and other devices that are running Android OS.

  • VeriFinger Embedded algorithm features and capabilities. The algorithm is a port of VeriFinger 6.6 PC-based algorithm for ARM-processors. VeriFinger Embedded is NIST MINEX compliant and provides AFIS quality fingerprint recognition on embedded and mobile devices. The algorithm is tolerant to fingerprint translation, rotation and deformation, and includes image quality determination. Read more
  • VeriFinger Embedded 1.2 SDK contents. The SDK is intended for biometric systems developers and integrators and allows rapid development of biometric applications for devices that are running Android OS. Java programming samples and tutorials are included. Read more
  • Supported fingerprint scanners. Several fingerprint readers are supported by VeriFinger Embedded SDK under Android OS. Read more
  • System requirements. A smartphone or tablet or other device that is running Android 2.3 (API 9) OS or newer. 1 GHz processor recommended for fingerprint processing in less than 1 second. Read more
  • Technical Specifications. A VeriFinger Embedded-based Java application running on a device with 1 GHz processor can extract a biometric template from a fingerprint image in less than 1 second, matches up to 13,500 fingerprints per second (with database pre-sorting) and requires from 250 to 6,000 bytes for a fingerprint template in a database.   • Reliability and Performance Test Results. VeriFinger Embedded has been tested with fingerprints taken from different scanners and showed decent performance and high matching reliability (see ROC charts). The reliability tests results correspond with the results of the PC-side VeriFinger SDK engine. Read more
