NFRecord's quality problem

Postby nhutran » Dec 15, 2009 03:45

I have a class that returns 2 values: minutiaCount and hasCore.
I know that "minutiaCount" is the number of minutiae in the NFRecord. But I don't know what value "hasCore" is. Can anyone know anything about this value and help me to explain it?
I greatly appreciate your help.

Hello,

hasCore defines if the extracted fingerprint template has a Core extracted.

Hi Martynas,
There is one more value of NFRecord's quality: center. Can you help me to explain this value? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

do you mean MegaMatcher? As there is no such version of VeriFinger.

Hi,

do you mean CenterX and CenterY in FncmMatchDetails? If yes, then you can find a description in documentation: X rotation point coordinate of the second (FncmVerify or FncmIdentifyNext) matched template; Y rotation point coordinate of the second (FncmVerify or FncmIdentifyNext) matched template.

Hi Martynas,
I think "Center" parameter is a property of one fingerprint. CenterX and CenterY are gotten values when comparing 2 fingerprints.

Dear Nhu,

could you specify where you found this property "center"?

Hi Martynas,
When I capture a finger to display it on picturebox of preview window, I need to get value "center" of this fingerprint.

If the fingerprint image is displayed at the center of the picturebox, the center value is set to be true.
If the fingerprint image is not displayed at the center of the picturebox, the center value is set to be false.

So, I don't know how to get this value. How can I determine it is true or false?

Any information regarding this? During my application testing I noticed if the fingerprint is centered during enrollment and if it is off center by quite a bit during indentification it won't come up with a match even though it is high quality.

I will do that. I use a securegen hamster iv scanner. If I scan the tip of my fingertip and it accepts it and then scan it again using the middle of my fingertip it tells me there is no match. It doesn't matter what I set the FAR to. I have been using the sample project in vb.net for my program.
